Houston-area rapper Mexican OT went viral after a bull struck him at a rodeo, leaving him unharmed but reflecting on the grit of rodeo professionals.
FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — A Houston-area rapper is going viral — but not for his music.
The rapper known as ‘That Mexican OT’ was sent flying after being hit by a bull inside the arena at the Fort Bend County Rodeo in Rosenberg over the weekend. The moment was caught on video and quickly spread across social media. It was posted on the Instagram account, @SnappedbySOS.
Despite taking several hard hits, Mexican OT says he’s OK.
Video from the rodeo shows the rapper being struck by the bull, flipping into the air, and getting hit again before making it out of the arena.
Mexican OT told KHOU 11 he loves animals and grew up around cowboys. He says his family has deep ties to the rodeo and invited him to take part in the event this weekend.
He says once he walked into the arena, the bull was released — and the adrenaline took over.

While he was wearing some padding, Mexican OT said it didn’t offer much protection.
“The bull just snapped them off me,” he said, adding that the encounter also tore his pants.
Still, he was able to walk away without serious injury and later went on to perform at the rodeo.
Mexican OT says he has no plans to become a cowboy or professional bull rider, but says he has a deep respect for those who do.
“I think they are great at what they do,” he said. “They are super tough men. I admire that about them.”
And as it turns out, this wasn’t his first rodeo. Mexican OT also tussled with a bull last May while performing rodeo clown stunts.
Who is That Mexican OT?
His real name is Virgil René Gazca, but goes by The Mexican OT, with the OT standing for ‘Outta Texas.’ Here is more of what to know about him from an interview Ugochi Iloka did with him in 2024.
